In 1967 Celtic were the first British team to win the European Cup.
Celtic beat Inter Milan 2-1 in Lisbon on 25th May 1967.
Amazingly all but two members of the 15 man “Lisbon Lions” squad were born within 10 miles of Celtic Park in Glasgow, Scotland (Bobby Lennox, who was born 30 miles away in Saltcoats, and Tommy Gemmell, who was born in Motherwell 11 miles away).
Football has changed a lot in 50 years.
